Bandros Passengers Set Record During Indonesia’s 80th Independence Day
Bandung –
The Bandung City Transportation Agency recorded a passenger record for the Bandung Tour On the Bus (Bandros) during Indonesia’s 80th Independence Day celebration. The iconic tourist fleet in Bandung City served up to 1,962 passengers precisely on August 17, 2025.
During Indonesia’s 80th Independence Day celebration, Bandros held a massive promotion for passengers. Tourists only needed to pay Rp 80 to travel around and enjoy the atmosphere of the City of Flowers.
“So on August 17th, Bandros passengers reached 1,962. This is a record because the previous year’s numbers were far below that,”
That number of Bandros passengers set the highest record because in 2024 it only reached 714 people and in 2023 it reached 378 people. This record even surpassed the number of Bandros passengers every weekend which usually reaches 1,000-1,200 people.
“The public enthusiasm was incredible, because it was a holiday moment. Another important factor was that the roads were empty, so vehicle volume moved a bit faster. Normally 45 minutes could take an hour, but yesterday it could be under 30 minutes to complete the loop because the roads were empty from morning,”
This massive promotion was held by the Bandung City Transportation Agency in collaboration with Bank Indonesia (BI) coinciding with the 2025 National QRIS Week. The route served by Bandros runs from Alun-alun Bandung – Asia Afrika – Banceuy – Viaduct – Wastukencana – Dago – Diponegoro – Cilaki – Tamblong – Asia Afrika.
“We collaborated with BI, this was only valid on August 17th. This was implemented at two Bandros station points: at Alun-alun and on Diponegoro Street,”
