MOJOKERTO – The alleged corruption case involving BLUD funds in Mojokerto Regency continues to draw public attention. After naming Yuki Firmanto as a suspect, various parties are now urging authorities to thoroughly investigate the scandal, which involves 27 community health centers in the region.

The Chairman of Commission II emphasized the importance of impartial law enforcement. He called on the Prosecutor’s Office to take serious action in this case, given that the funds were allocated by the government to ensure public health rights.

“The legal process must proceed objectively. If there is misuse, it must be dealt with according to the law, whether committed by officials or ordinary citizens,” he stated on Thursday (11/7/2025).

The young politician added that alleged corruption in the health sector is deeply concerning. According to him, healthcare facilities are a basic necessity that the state must guarantee.

“We will summon the Head of the Mojokerto Regency Health Office soon to obtain a full explanation and complete data. This is part of an evaluation to prevent similar incidents in the future,” he explained.

Similar sentiments came from anti-corruption activists. A senior activist in Mojokerto urged law enforcement to uncover the entire network of perpetrators.

“Don’t stop at Yuki. There may be local officials involved. The masterminds behind this must be exposed,” he asserted.

Meanwhile, a public observer suggested that this alleged corruption case is not just an individual act. He suspects a system enabling such fraudulent practices.

“Corruption schemes involving public services like this are usually systemic. We must investigate whether there was a main initiator orchestrating everything,” he explained.

A young Mojokerto figure also supported pursuing the case to its roots.

“The Prosecutor’s Office can be considered successful if it uncovers the entire network and recovers state losses,” he said.

As previously reported, investigators from the Mojokerto District Prosecutor’s Office have officially detained Yuki Firmanto (40) after he twice failed to attend questioning. Yuki was named a suspect on January 31, 2025, but only appeared on the third summons.

The Head of the Mojokerto District Prosecutor’s Office confirmed that Yuki was immediately detained, and the case files have been transferred to the East Java High Prosecutor’s Office for further processing.

“The detention is intended to maximize the investigation and facilitate evidence presentation during trial,” he explained on Wednesday (9/7/2025).

The suspect is charged under Article 2, Paragraph (1) and Article 3 of Law No. 31 of 1999 on the Eradication of Corruption Crimes, as amended by Law No. 20 of 2001. The detention period will last 20 days before the case goes to trial at the Surabaya Corruption Court.

This alleged corruption case poses a serious test for law enforcement, local government, and the legislative council. Transparency and commitment to eradicating corruption in public services are key to maintaining public trust. The public now awaits whether the investigation will truly target the main actors behind the scenes.
