Another Indian youth has been killed in the United States. A young man from Hyderabad was lured to a remote location under the pretext of a pizza delivery and then shot dead. This incident has sparked widespread concern. Questions have begun to arise about the safety of Indian youths living in the US for study and work. The murder reportedly took place on Saturday night in Philadelphia. The deceased is 28-year-old Anshul Kuncha.
The family alleges that the assailants deliberately set a trap to kill Anshul. The youth, who had gone to the US for higher education, had been working for a multinational company for the past four years. He also worked part-time delivering pizzas during his time off. According to the family, Anshul was doing that job on Saturday night. He received a pizza delivery order from Philadelphia. When he arrived with the pizza, unknown assailants fired indiscriminately at him and fled. The Indian youth died on the spot.
Preliminary investigations have revealed that after the murder, the assailants did not steal Anshul’s phone, money, or any other valuables. Therefore, police do not believe the killing was motivated by theft or robbery.
The victim’s sister, Tanvi, said that the pizza trap was actually set to kill her brother. He was lured to an abandoned location under the guise of a delivery. There, he was shot in the head and killed. Tanvi said, “We have been told that the assailants fired three bullets at my brother’s head. After his death, his body lay on the road for a long time.”
Police have already begun investigating the murder. Initial findings indicate that the assailants did not take Anshul’s phone, money, or any other valuables after the killing. As a result, police do not suspect the motive was theft or robbery. It is possible that racial hatred is behind this. The Indian Embassy in the US has expressed condolences over the tragic death of the Indian youth. It has been stated that they are in touch with Anshul’s family. All diplomatic steps are being taken to bring the body back to India as soon as possible.
