New Delhi – Reliance Jio stepped into the smartglasses segment on Friday by introducing ‘Geoframes’, which will be able to perform tasks like calls, music, and video recording without using hands and will feature a multilingual AI voice assistant. At Reliance Industries’ annual general meeting, Jio Chairman Akash Ambani stated that Geoframes is an artificial intelligence (AI) enabled wearable platform and ecosystem built for India.
It will work in multiple Indian languages right from the time of launch. You can speak directly to Jio’s multilingual AI voice assistant. According to Counterpoint Research, globally, Ray-Ban Meta AI Glasses held a 73% share in the smartglasses segment from January to June 2025. To intensify competition in this segment, Jio has also added features like Reels and photo gallery customization to its smartglasses.

Jio has been building a digital ecosystem over the past few years where user data remains secure and personalized services are delivered through AI. Last year, the company announced 100 GB of free cloud storage, while this year, features like automatic document categorization and tools for creating Reels and promotional content have been added.

At this meeting, Akash Ambani also introduced Jio’s new AI voice assistant ‘Riya’, which is similar to Amazon’s Alexa and Apple’s Siri. On this occasion, the President of Jio Platforms, Kiran Thomas, introduced the cloud-based ‘GeoPC’, which will provide personal computer features on TV with the help of a Jio set-top box and an external keyboard.
