Hyderabad: The final day of nomination filing for the ongoing Jubilee Hills Assembly constituency by-election saw a flood of nominations from candidates. On Tuesday alone, approximately 200 nomination sets were received, while 127 nominations had been filed over the previous six days.
By the final date for nomination submissions, 321 nominations had been received from over two hundred candidates. Previously, on the first day, 10 candidates filed 11 nominations; the second day saw 11 candidates file 11 nominations; the third day had 12 candidates file 13 nominations; the fourth day had 19 candidates file 21 nominations; the fifth day had 20 candidates file 23 nominations; and the sixth day saw 40 to 48 nominations filed. Among those filing nominations is BJP’s Lankala Deepak Reddy. Similarly, the Returning Officer has received over 321 nominations. The exact number of candidates can only be confirmed after the nomination scrutiny process. On the final day, a huge crowd was seen at the Shekhpet MRO office filing nominations. Even after the deadline, a large crowd of candidates and their supporters was observed outside the office.
It is understood that the impact of the announcement by RRR-affected farmers, leaders, and the unemployed union to field one hundred candidates was clearly visible in the nomination process. Nomination scrutiny will take place on October 22. The last date for withdrawal of nominations is October 24, while voting will be held on November 11 and results will be declared on November 13.
