Bhalswa Dairy
Bhalswa Dairy is a densely populated, low-income neighborhood in northwest Delhi, India, historically known for its large dairy settlement. Its name originates from the “Bhalswa Jahangirpur” area, and it is now more commonly recognized for the adjacent **Bhalswa landfill**, one of Delhi’s three major waste dumping sites that began operations in 1994. The landfill has become a dominant feature of the area, impacting the local environment and community life.
Jahangir Puri
Jahangir Puri is a residential neighborhood in North Delhi, India. Historically, it is believed to have been established during the Mughal era, possibly named after Emperor Jahangir (reigned 1605–1627), and has since evolved into a densely populated urban area.
Bhalswa Dairy lake
Bhalswa Dairy is a large, polluted water body in northwest Delhi, India, which originated as a rainwater collection pond centuries ago. Historically used by local dairy farmers, it has been heavily encroached upon and now primarily serves as a landfill site, with a significant portion of its area covered by a growing garbage mound. Today, it is a stark example of urban environmental degradation and a focus of local conservation concerns.
