Hyderabad – A ₹2,085 crore project to fill the Musi River with Godavari water through Gandipet and Himayat Sagar has been awarded to Ramky Infrastructure Limited. According to official sources from Ramky, the company has entered into a historic concession agreement worth ₹2,085 crore with the Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board.

This contract pertains to the second and third phases of the Godavari Drinking Water Supply Scheme, which involves filling the Osman Sagar and Himayat Sagar reservoirs with Godavari water to help rejuvenate the Musi River.

The project will be implemented through Ramky Infrastructure’s subsidiary, Mallannasagar Water Supply Limited, under the Hybrid Annuity Model (HAM). Under the agreement, Ramky Infrastructure will complete the construction work within two years. Subsequently, it will handle human resources, operations, and maintenance for a period of 10 years.

Commenting on this development, it was stated that this project demonstrates the company’s commitment to building sustainable water infrastructure. It will not only help meet growing drinking water needs but also partner with the water board to promote long-term sustainability.
