New Delhi – The production house of Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan, Red Chillies Entertainment, and Netflix India have been issued a summons by the court in connection with a controversy surrounding a web series. The case is reportedly related to alleged copyright infringement and the distribution of offensive content.

A hearing was held today at the Delhi High Court on the defamation petition filed by IRS officer Sameer Wankhede, following which the Delhi High Court issued summons to Netflix and Shah Rukh Khan’s production house Red Chillies Entertainment. Allegations state that the series “Bads of Bollywood” has damaged Sameer Wankhede’s image. This series was produced by Red Chillies and streamed on Netflix.

The summons issued by the Delhi High Court states that the production house and Netflix must respond to the case within 7 days. The hearing for this case will take place on October 30th.

Sameer Wankhede alleges that the series “Bads of Bollywood,” which marks the directorial debut of Shah Rukh Khan’s son Aryan Khan, features a character resembling him, which has damaged his reputation and caused defamation. He and his family are being continuously trolled. Previously, Sameer Wankhede had filed the defamation petition for the first time on September 26th. At that time, the Delhi High Court had given him time to amend the petition and asked for an explanation of how this petition is maintainable in the Delhi High Court.

Why was the petition filed against Shah Rukh?

Shah Rukh Khan’s son Aryan Khan’s series “Bads of Bollywood” is based on the film industry or Bollywood’s backdrop. In its first episode, there’s a scene of a Bollywood success party where some people are seen consuming drugs outside. During this, an investigation officer makes an entry who arrives there with the intention of trapping Bollywood people in a drug case. This character closely resembles Sameer Wankhede.
