Kerala, October 18, 2025. The case of a young engineer’s suicide in Kerala has shaken the entire state. Police have now registered an FIR in this case, giving the investigation a new turn. The deceased engineer has been identified as 28-year-old Akshay Krishnan, who was working at a private tech company in Kochi. His death has not only raised questions about workplace environment but has also sparked intense discussion about mental health and professional pressure.
In a suicide case of a 26-year-old software engineer in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, police have registered a case. Officials stated that on October 17, a case was registered at Thampanoor police station against Nidhish Muralidharan, a resident of Kanjirapally, under IPC Section 377 (unnatural sexual offense).
Officials said the case has also been transferred to Kottayam Ponkunnam police station. Meanwhile, officials from Ponkunnam police station stated they would soon register the FIR again and begin investigating this matter.
Actually, a software engineer from Elikkulam in Kottayam district had committed suicide on October 9. His body was found hanging from a noose in a lodge room in Thampanoor. Police had initially registered a case of unnatural death.
The engineer was a member of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS). His family had also been associated with RSS for a long time. Before his suicide, he had posted a 15-page suicide message on Instagram, repeatedly mentioning the term ‘NM’ and alleging sexual abuse. He also made allegations of abuse occurring in RSS camps.

In a video, the victim named Nidhish Muralidharan stated that NM’s mistreatment of him began in childhood, which caused him significant mental distress and obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD). The victim acknowledged that he had no evidence to prove the sexual abuse allegations.
