Delhi Ration Card Update: Significant news has emerged for residents of Delhi. The Delhi government has decided to increase the income limit for ration cards. It has been announced that the annual income limit for obtaining a ration card will now be 2.5 lakh rupees. Previously, this limit was 1 lakh rupees, which was later increased to 1.2 lakh rupees. Now it is being further raised to 2.5 lakh rupees.
The Delhi government has made the ration card process fully digital. New ration cards can now only be applied for online. It was stated that many ration cards in Delhi have been canceled over the past few years.
The government recently canceled approximately 7.72 lakh incorrect ration cards after an investigation. The investigation revealed that 1.44 lakh people did not meet the income condition, 35,800 people were not receiving ration benefits, 29,580 people had died, and 23,394 ration cards were found to be duplicates. It was also stated that no new ration cards had been issued in the last 13 years, but now new ration cards can be obtained through the online application process.
