Indore, September 23: The Indian team is ready to deliver a powerful performance at the IMMAF World Championships, which will be held from September 27 to October 2 in Tbilisi, Georgia.
Three of the seven athletes representing India are from Indore, training under the guidance of a Vikram Award-winning coach. Advocate Surbhi Sankhala, Arun Chandravanshi, and Arya Chaudhary are prepared to carry the dreams of their city and country onto the global stage of Mixed Martial Arts (MMA).
Surbhi Sankhala, at 31 years of age, has established herself as one of India’s most successful amateur MMA athletes. Under her coach’s guidance, she developed her passion for martial arts from self-defense training, mastering Karate, Kurash, and MMA.
Surbhi has demonstrated her hard work and dedication by winning multiple national gold medals, a silver at the 2023 IMMAF Asian Championships in Bahrain, and a bronze at the 2024 World Championships in Uzbekistan.
Arun Chandravanshi, 25 years old, is from Kachnaria village in Madhya Pradesh and is a symbol of struggle and patience. Having trained under his coach since 2022, Arun has won gold, silver, and multiple bronze medals in national MMA competitions, as well as a silver medal at the Jiu-Jitsu Nationals. His journey from a small village to the international stage reflects his talent and unwavering determination.
Arya Chaudhary, at just 19 years of age, is one of India’s most emerging MMA talents. Having trained in combat sports for over 13 years under her coach’s guidance, Arya has participated in the MMA World Championships twice, is a four-time national MMA champion, a six-time national Karate champion, and a two-time MMA India “Athlete of the Year.” Her goal is clear – to become a World Champion and elevate India’s name in global MMA.
The athletes credit most of their success to their coach, whose guidance shapes not only their technique but also their discipline, patience, and competitive spirit. He said, “These fighters prove that nothing is impossible with the right guidance, discipline, and passion. They carry the strength of Indore with them, and I am fully confident they will enhance India’s pride in Georgia.”
The journey of Surbhi, Arun, and Arya has also received strong support from an Indore-based real estate strategic investment company. Its founder believes that MMA is not just a sport but a necessity in today’s times, teaching discipline, self-defense, and mental strength. The aim is for martial arts to reach every home, so that young Indians can develop confidence, patience, and self-protection capabilities.
Through the company’s guidance and support, the athletes have access to world-class resources, training, and facilities, allowing them to focus entirely on their art and international competitions.
The founder said, “MMA should not be a sport for just a few; it is a tool for self-defense, discipline, and self-confidence. Every young person should have the opportunity to learn it, so they can face challenges courageously and be prepared for life. Supporting Surbhi, Arun, and Arya is our way of promoting this vision and inspiring others to embrace MMA.”
The company’s partnership has turned aspiration into achievement, providing the athletes with stability, encouragement, and opportunities, helping them achieve success on the global stage while also spreading awareness about the importance of martial arts.
In Georgia, Surbhi, Arun, and Arya will not only go to win medals but to carry the pride of Indore and India, proving that with dedication, patience, and support, dreams can reach the world stage.
