Surat: In Surat, which is emerging as a major textile hub of the country, the “Textile Awards” have been organized under the joint auspices of the Southern Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SGCCI) and the Confederation of Indian Textile Industry (CITI) with the aim of giving a new direction to the textile industry and encouraging industrialists who have done outstanding work.

The city of Surat is considered a rapidly emerging center in the country’s textile sector. Because the entire supply chain of the textile industry is available here, it provides the largest contribution to the city’s economy along with the most opportunities in the employment sector.

The chamber’s objective is to motivate textile industrialists to advance in areas such as quality management, innovation, and exports. Under this objective, textile industrialists will be honored in a total of nine categories.

These categories include Product Innovation, Excellence in Export, Quality Management, HR Practices, Recycling, Best Performance in Local Textile Machine Manufacturing, Emerging Textile Unit of Surat, and Lifetime Achievement Award in the polyester, viscose, and textile park sectors.

A total of 54 industrialists will be honored at the ceremony. The event will be held on May 28, 2026, at Platinum Hall, Sarsana, with Neeraj Kumar Arya present as the chief guest.

According to the chamber, through these awards, an effort is being made to give new direction and inspiration to the industry by honoring industrialists doing outstanding work in the textile sector.
