Launch of the terrorist financing task force

The Italian ambassador gave this information in New Delhi. He spoke on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the Italian Republic. According to sources, this task force will start work immediately. This is a major phase of Italy-India defense cooperation. Both countries will also launch a new format for maritime security. This format will support freedom of navigation.

It is noteworthy that the ambassador also mentioned the IMEC project. An MoM has been signed for port cooperation between the two countries. The objective is also to create digital networks and a fast-track corridor. Italy is the second largest manufacturing powerhouse in Europe. Italy’s technology will blend with India’s speed and talent.

This development comes at a time when new challenges have emerged in global counter-terrorism operations. The terrorist financing task force will connect the intelligence agencies of both countries. Focus will be on financial investigation and intelligence sharing. This initiative will strengthen strategic relations between India and Italy.

Announcement of the maritime security format

Both countries will now work together in the Indian Ocean and the Mediterranean Sea. According to government sources, this is an extension of Italy-India defense cooperation. The maritime security format will prevent piracy and terrorism on sea routes. Additionally, an MoM has been signed for the development of the National Maritime Heritage Complex at Lothal.

In particular, a twinning program is ongoing between UNESCO World Heritage sites in India and Italy. A joint declaration of intent has also been signed for the movement of Indian nurses in Italy. According to the representative, these agreements are an important outcome of PM Modi’s visit to Italy.

Celebration of the cultural year 2027

Cultural exchange between the two countries will now increase in the coming time. Along with Italy-India defense cooperation, cultural ties will also deepen. Both prime ministers have agreed to celebrate the cultural year 2027. Many programs will be held during this year. PM Modi and Meloni have made this announcement. New opportunities will arise in the tourism and education sectors.
