RG Kar case: West Bengal Chief Secretary Calls Meeting
RG Kar case: An emergency meeting has been convened by the principal secretary of West Bengal involving various medical associations, including the Indian Medical Association, in response to allegations of misconduct and murder by junior doctors at RG Kar Medical College and Hospital. The meeting will take place at the Health Building, the headquarters of the state health department located at Salt Lake in Kolkata, on Monday at 12:30 PM. Representatives from each organization have been asked to attend.
The principal secretary has requested that attendees email their names for the meeting. It is not yet clear whether the state health secretary will attend. The leadership of the junior doctors, who have been actively protesting the incidents of misconduct and murder, will present their demands to the state health secretary.
