New Delhi, June 13 – The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) stated that the southwest monsoon is expected to reach most parts of northwest India, including Delhi, by June 25, significantly ahead of its usual schedule.

The monsoon arrived in Kerala on May 24, marking the earliest onset on Indian soil since 2009, when it reached Kerala on May 23.

Due to strong low-pressure systems in the Arabian Sea and the Bay of Bengal, the monsoon advanced rapidly and reached parts of central Maharashtra, including Mumbai, and the entire northeast by May 29.
