Yemen and Sudan: King Salman Center provides medical and food aid

The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center recently launched a volunteer medical project for cardiac surgery and catheterization in Aden Governorate, running from September 13-20, 2025, with the participation of 12 volunteers from various specialties.

The center’s volunteer medical team performed 9 open-heart surgeries and 52 diagnostic and therapeutic catheterization procedures, all of which were completely successful.

« Saudi Light » Project

The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center concluded the « Saudi Light » volunteer project for specialized eye operations in Aden Governorate, running from September 7-14, 2025, with the participation of 6 volunteers from various medical specialties.

The center’s volunteer medical team performed 50 retinal operations, 50 glaucoma surgeries, 30 eye socket surgeries, 30 strabismus correction surgeries, 80 minor operations, 250 retinal injections, and 200 laser procedures, all of which were successful.

Youth Empowerment

The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center recently delivered professional toolkits to 80 beneficiaries in the districts of Seiyun and Wadi Amd in Hadramawt Governorate, as part of the Career Pathways project to empower youth in Yemen.

The project aims to economically empower youth by providing them with specialized skills and work tools that enable them to launch small income-generating projects, contributing to improving their living standards and enhancing self-reliance.

It was noted that the project represents a living model of transitioning from relief work to genuine recovery pathways, highlighting efforts to rehabilitate and build youth capacities to enter the job market with better skills, which positively impacts society and contributes to reducing unemployment and achieving stability.

Food Baskets

The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center recently distributed 1,500 food baskets to those affected by heavy rains in Shikan locality, North Kordofan State, Sudan, benefiting 10,289 individuals, as part of the support project in Sudan for 2025-2026.

This comes as an extension of the relief and humanitarian efforts provided to alleviate the suffering of the Sudanese people due to the humanitarian crisis and to achieve food security.

Volunteer Medical Project

The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center recently implemented the volunteer medical project for plastic surgery, burns, and deformities in Port Sudan, Sudan, with the participation of 17 volunteers from various medical specialties.

The center’s volunteer medical team has examined 23 cases since the campaign began and performed 25 specialized surgical operations, all of which were successful.

This falls within the framework of volunteer medical projects provided to assist needy and affected peoples and countries around the world.
