Middle School Band Competition in the Capital Sets Performance Order, Begins in July

The draw to decide the order of performances for the middle school band competition was held on the 15th in Fuchu Forest, Fuchu City. More than 500 advisors of participating groups attended, gearing up for the competition that opens on July 30.

The competition is one of the sectional tournaments that selects representatives to advance to major competitions such as the Metropolitan Band Competition. There are 79 groups in the A division (under 50 members) aiming for the Metropolitan competition, 75 in the East Japan division (under 30 members) aiming for the East Japan School Band Competition, and 365 in the B division (under 35 members) where there is no higher competition. The event spans eight days and will be held at the same theater and at the Nerima Cultural Center.
