Mecca – The Secretary General of the Indonesian Ulema Council invites all Indonesian Hajj pilgrims to focus on the preparation of the peak journey of the Hajj with the Armuzna sequence (Arafah, Muzdalifah, and Mina).

A press release issued in Mecca, Saudi Arabia, on Tuesday (06/03/2025) states that worship in these three places must be carried out with focus as part of the mandatory activities, so that pilgrims can complete the peak of the Hajj well with the hope of becoming a blessed Hajj.

Why focus? According to the Secretary General, the Hajj worship process in Arafah, Muzdalifah, and Mina is the most challenging phase of the pilgrimage. This sequence of worship also distinguishes between Hajj and Umrah.

About: Arafah

Mount Arafat, also known as Jabal Arafah, is a significant site located about 20 kilometers southeast of Mecca in Saudi Arabia. It is the place where the Prophet Muhammad delivered his Farewell Sermon to the Muslims who had accompanied him for the Hajj towards the end of his life. Every year, during the Hajj pilgrimage, millions of Muslims gather at Arafat on the 9th day of the Islamic month of Dhu al-Hijjah, a day known as the Day of Arafah, to pray and repent, as standing at Arafat is considered the central ritual of the Hajj and a moment of forgiveness and mercy.

About: Muzdalifah

Muzdalifah is an open, level area located between Mina and Mount Arafat in Saudi Arabia that plays a significant role in the Islamic Hajj pilgrimage. Devotees gather here after the Stand on Arafat, a pivotal ritual of the Hajj, to collect pebbles at night which will be used in the ritual of stoning the devil in Mina the following days. This place is marked by the merging of pilgrims from across the globe, symbolizing unity and equality among the faithful.

About: Mina

Mina, also known as the Tent City, is located just a few kilometers to the east of Mecca, Saudi Arabia. It plays a pivotal role during the annual Islamic pilgrimage, the Hajj, where it serves as the temporary residence for millions of pilgrims in vast rows of air-conditioned tents. Historically significant, Mina is the site where pilgrims perform the ritual of the Stoning of the Devil, which reenacts the actions of the Prophet Ibrahim (Abraham) as a demonstration of his faith.
