RADARBANDUNG.ID, BANDUNG CITY – continuously launches concrete programs to stabilize the community’s economy ahead of Iduladha 2025. Mayor of Bandung, Muhammad Farhan, outlined three strategic agendas currently ongoing and directly impacting residents’ needs, from controlling food prices, animal health, to job availability.

Muhammad Farhan explained that one of the programs that attracted public attention is the Cheap Market, which is held for ten full days in 30 districts. Each day, three different locations will serve as the site for this activity. Besides being a real solution to suppress the surge in staple prices, this cheap market is also designed as a productive space for Cooperatives and Small and Medium Enterprises (KUKM) to expand market reach and increase turnover.

“Every day, it’s held in three districts. This is also an opportunity for KUKM to increase turnover,” said Farhan when met on Monday (2/6/2025).

In addition to addressing basic needs, according to him, the Bandung City Government is also anticipating the high demand for sacrificial animals ahead of Iduladha. Inspections on the health of sacrificial animals have been conducted since early June, including the attachment of QR Codes on animals that pass health verification. This innovation allows residents to digitally trace the health history of animals before making a purchase.

Farhan stated that so far, no cases of Foot and Mouth Disease (FMD) have been found in Bandung. However, he urged residents to remain vigilant and only buy animals from trusted sources.

“Until now, there have been no reports of FMD, but everyone is holding back on purchases. The surge usually occurs three days before Iduladha,” he explained.

Meanwhile, he added that in response to the still high open unemployment rate, the Bandung City Government is also designing an open job fair that aims to target various productive age segments.

Farhan acknowledged there are still many challenges in the field, such as the limited opening of vacancies by the private sector. However, he assured that the government is not standing still.

Farhan revealed that as a concrete short-term step, the city government continues to run a labor-intensive program that has now entered its third cycle. This program absorbs labor from the surrounding community for light infrastructure work and social projects, serving as a temporary safety net while awaiting comprehensive improvements in the labor climate.

“Many companies have not opened job vacancies but are still asked to participate. Therefore, in the meantime, the solution is through a labor-intensive program,” said Farhan.

Through these three main strategies—price stabilization through the cheap market, animal health assurance, and labor absorption through labor-intensive programs—Bandung City Government shows its seriousness in tackling economic problems comprehensively and sustainably.(dsn)

RADARBANDUNG.ID, SUBANG- acknowledged having received permission from the Governor of West Java and the Ministry of Home Affairs to enforce bureaucratic reform in the area.

also emphasized that he is not hesitant to revoke the status even if it’s his own relative.

“I have obtained permission from the Governor of West Java and the Ministry of Home Affairs. I will be firm with those who even if that indisciplined ASN is my own sibling,” asserted while leading the Staff Briefing on Monday (2/6/2025).

He also mentioned that he could not carry out bureaucratic reform alone, so he deliberately invited Heads of OPD, Sub-District Heads, and Umpeg Heads to ensure that bureaucratic reform in Subang Regency is carried out objectively.

“I cannot work alone. Why are you all gathered here? I want it to be fair, for example, if there is a diligent employee but cannot operate a mobile phone, you are welcome to make BAP for them. But also for those who just stay absent, a BAP must also be made to ensure objectivity as I do not want factors like and dislike,” added Kang Rey, as he is commonly known.

According to Rey, the resolution to achieve bureaucratic reform in Subang is not just a bluff. Rey mentioned that this has been proven by the trial of 10 who will be dismissed from their status, due to various violations of regulations set by BKN and the Ministry of Home Affairs concerning ASN.

“There are 10 people whose status will be dismissed. This is proof that I am not joking about bureaucratic reform. ASN staying absent for 28 days in one year without explanation, and 10 consecutive days, can already be dismissed,” he stressed

On this occasion, he once again emphasized to all in Subang Regency to run in providing solutions and services to the community.

Kang Rey desires that every complaint submitted by the public through social media is responded to promptly and seriously.

“Every day I always respond to public complaints through social media and record them. I want immediate follow-up. I want in Subang Regency to be quick in responding to public complaints and providing services to the community,” he disclosed.

Rey also mentioned that besides imposing sanctions for those who underperform, a reward system will also be implemented in Subang Regency for ASN who perform excellently.

“The allowance deduction for those who are late will be given to ASN who work more, even until overtime,” he remarked.

Lastly, Kang Rey emphasized that he wants every rupiah spent by the government on salaries to have tangible outputs felt by the community.

“Basically, the money spent on salaries must provide clear outputs,” concluded Rey.
