The 27th Shanghai International Film Festival Opens
On June 13, the 27th Shanghai International Film Festival opened, with cinemas and iconic buildings across the city dressed up in a “cinematic feast”. Moviegoers explored ticket “Easter eggs” and “immersive” check-ins, sharing the festive frenzy both on and off the screen.
As the only international A-category film festival in China, the Golden Goblet Award at the Shanghai International Film Festival has attracted attention from both domestic and international circles. This year’s Golden Goblet Award selection received over 3,900 film submissions from 119 countries and regions, setting a new historical record.
After selection, 49 entries from 28 countries and regions entered the competition in five major categories, including 38 world premieres, 8 international premieres, and 3 Asian premieres. For the first time, three Latin American films entered the main competition category.
