Cultural and Natural Heritage Day: A New Ecosystem through the Integration of Museums and Schools in the “Intangible Heritage in the Community” Initiative in Qingpu

On June 14, 2025, the “Cultural and Natural Heritage Day” promotional exhibition event was held in Zhujiajiao Town, Qingpu District. During the event, the Qingpu District Cultural Center and the Zhujiajiao Adult Education Group signed a “Heritage + Community Education” integration agreement to jointly promote the “Heritage in the Community” initiative, establishing a new ecosystem for community education on intangible cultural heritage in Qingpu.

“Heritage in the Community” is an effective method of heritage protection and inheritance that has been continuously explored and developed. In 2020, Shanghai was designated as a national pilot city for “Heritage in the Community”. Qingpu District closely follows the directives to “fully promote ‘Heritage in the Community'” work, as part of the core area of the Yangtze River Delta integration demonstration zone, actively promoting pilot projects year after year, innovating practices, and creating several “Heritage in the Community” demonstration
