New forms of employment workers watch a performance.
“Wow! Penguins walking are so cute.” “Quick, take a photo of me with the beluga whale…” On the morning of May 28, an event themed “New Hearts Towards Prosperity, Journeying with the City” was held. Truck drivers, couriers, and other workers from new forms of employment in Changqing Street were invited to visit the Wuhan Polar Ocean Resort. During a relaxing tour, they unwound and experienced the vibrant development of the local ecology, culture, and economy, fostering a sense of belonging and professional pride.
“This is our first time at the polar ocean resort, and we truly feel the growth and changes of Dongxihu City.” Upon entering the park, everyone was visibly excited, pulling out their phones to take photos.
“I’m from Jinhua and have lived and worked in Dongxihu for six years, but I never had time to go out. This is my first visit to the Wuhan Polar Ocean Park, and it’s better than any place I’ve been to before,” said a worker, reflecting that this event gave her a chance to take a break. Many workers noted that they are usually busy with work and only rest on days off, rarely going out to relax. This event not only offered them an opportunity to experience a city landmark but also felt like “celebrating Children’s Day a bit early.” Another worker, who works at a logistics company and has lived in Dongxihu for nearly a decade, spends her time around family and work, rarely having moments alone. “Today, I really feel relaxed and happy,” she said with a smile, adding that she plans to bring her children back again.
