On the evening of November 20th, the 15th National Games track and field competition reached its peak moment at the Guangdong Olympic Sports Center Stadium. In the highly anticipated men’s and women’s 4×100 meter relay finals, the Hubei team won gold medals in both the women’s and men’s events, achieving a double gold sweep in the National Games track and field 100-meter relays.
The Hubei women’s team consisted of Xie Fuwei, Li He, Zhu Junying, and Xu Jialu. First runner Xie Fuwei reacted quickly, using excellent explosive power to gain a slight advantage within 30 meters after the start. Anchor runner Xu Jialu steadily maintained the leading rhythm throughout her leg. When the timer stopped at 43.86 seconds, Xu Jialu was the first to cross the finish line, securing the gold medal for the Hubei team.
The men’s 4×100 meter relay final featured star athletes. The Hubei team, led by “new 100-meter champion” Li Zeyang along with Li Mengyuan, Liu Ke, and Liu Yang, engaged in fierce competition with teams from Jiangxi and Jiangsu provinces. The farewell race of 36-year-old Asian record holder Su Bingtian added special significance to this competition.
During the final, the Hubei team demonstrated strong competitiveness from the start through carefully arranged tactics and seamless coordination. First runner Li Mengyuan’s quick start reaction laid a solid foundation for the team; second runner and new 100-meter champion Li Zeyang displayed exceptional explosive power, rapidly accelerating after receiving the baton. Third runner Liu Ke maintained the leading advantage despite close pursuit from opponents, steadily passing the baton to anchor runner Liu Yang. Liu Yang demonstrated outstanding finishing ability, ultimately crossing the line first with a time of 38.60 seconds.
