The traffic management department has implemented eight service measures to support the national college entrance examination.
To ensure smooth traffic flow and service support during the exam period, and to maintain orderly city-wide traffic operations, the public security traffic management department has planned ahead and made thorough arrangements. Drawing on past exam support experience, they have formulated eight service measures to fully assist this year’s exam process.
● Special crackdown on illegal racing and modified vehicle noise
The traffic management department has launched a special campaign against illegal racing and modified vehicle noise, targeting illegal modifications, speeding, and noise disturbances. Strict enforcement will address various disruptive traffic violations and dangerous driving behaviors to protect the exam preparation and testing environment for students.
● Construction work near exam sites to be suspended during specific times
From the day before the exam until its conclusion, all road construction projects within 500 meters of daytime exam sites, as well as any nighttime projects generating noise pollution, will be suspended. This measure aims to minimize construction noise interference with the exams at the source.
● Vehicle horns prohibited near exam sites during foreign language listening tests
On the afternoon of June 8, during the foreign language listening test period, the traffic management department will coordinate with the distribution of 16 listening test sites across the city. Based on conditions, appropriate measures such as traffic diversion and rerouting will be implemented on roads near exam sites, with vehicle horns prohibited to ensure smooth conduct of the listening tests.
● Expanding parking resources near exam sites to facilitate drop-offs
The traffic management department will work with local governments, education committees, and street offices to maximize the creation of temporary roadside parking spaces near exam sites, based on actual road conditions. Additional parking guidance signs will be installed, and temporary parking areas and parent waiting zones will be designated. On-site traffic guidance will be strengthened to encourage drop-off vehicles to stop briefly and leave promptly. Meanwhile, efforts will be intensified to monitor parked vehicles and clear illegally parked ones, ensuring orderly parking near exam sites.
● Customized traffic management plans for each exam site
The traffic management department has conducted on-site surveys in advance, adhering to a “one school, one policy” approach to create personalized traffic management plans for each exam site. Traffic measures near exam sites will be refined to ensure orderly traffic flow at and around exam entrances. The department has also conducted comprehensive inspections and maintenance of traffic signs, road markings, and protective facilities near all exam sites, promptly supplementing and improving signs for no-honking, slow driving, and temporary parking, while repairing unclear markings and damaged facilities to ensure basic road conditions are effective.
● Early deployment of police to strengthen road guidance
During the exam period, the traffic management department will fully activate a high-level deployment plan, dispatching additional police to areas around schools, busy bridges, major intersections, and key road sections, and setting up more guidance posts. All exam support police will arrive at their posts early to strengthen command and guidance, while intensifying efforts to advise and penalize illegal parking and honking near exam sites.
● Motorcycle police to carry spare helmets, ready to assist candidates
During the exam period, motorcycle police will strengthen dynamic patrols on roads near exam sites, carrying spare helmets on their vehicles. If a candidate seeks help, they will provide immediate assistance to ensure the candidate can take the exam smoothly.
● Timely traffic guidance near exam sites
During the exam period, the traffic management department will use outdoor road screens, traffic radio, and the full media platform to provide real-time traffic information, temporary control updates, and travel tips. Drivers are reminded to plan their routes in advance, and non-exam-related vehicles should try to bypass roads near exam sites, travel during off-peak hours, and actively yield to exam-related traffic.
Tips
Don’t go to the wrong exam site; call 122 if you encounter difficulties
The traffic management department advises candidates and parents to carefully check the exam site name and address on their admission tickets, familiarize themselves with the location and travel routes in advance, especially for easily confused sites like Eleven School and Eleventh Middle School, or Tongzhou District Yunhe Middle School and Luhe Middle School, to avoid affecting the exam due to oversight. It is recommended to leave early, allowing ample time to handle unexpected road situations and avoid delays.
Drop-off vehicles should strictly follow the guidance of on-duty police, assistants, and volunteers for orderly parking. At exam sites with limited parking, please stop briefly and leave promptly, without occupying the road or lingering.</
