On the morning of the 25th, the historical exhibition room on “The Practice of the People’s Congress System in Shenzhen” was officially opened in the office building of the Municipal People’s Congress Standing Committee. The Director of the Municipal People’s Congress Standing Committee and representatives from various levels attended the event, revisiting the glorious history and drawing inspiration for the journey ahead.
The exhibition room is divided into four chronological units, using display panels, physical exhibits, and video presentations to showcase the development of the People’s Congress System in Shenzhen and the practical implementation of the Municipal People’s Congress and its Standing Committee in performing their duties according to law throughout various historical periods.
It was pointed out that this year marks the 45th anniversary of the establishment of the Shenzhen Special Economic Zone and the 35th anniversary of the founding of the Shenzhen Municipal People’s Congress Standing Committee. Over the past 35 years, the Municipal People’s Congress Standing Committee has consistently adhered to the integration of Party leadership, the people being the masters of the country, and law-based governance. It has integrated the work of the People’s Congress into the historical process of reform and opening up in the special economic zone, promoting the continuous evolution and improvement of the People’s Congress System in Shenzhen, which is now full of vitality and vigor. Every historical document in the exhibition room reflects the original intent of our mission; every story shines with the brilliance of the People’s Congress System taking root in the special economic zone.
It was stated that the exhibition room is not only a “corridor of time” for looking back at history and remembering the original mission, but also an “important window” for showcasing achievements and facilitating mutual learning, as well as a “spiritual classroom” for nurturing values and passing on the legacy. It is hoped that representatives and officials will gain a deeper understanding of the strength of the People’s Congress System through the historical materials, comprehend the significance of “putting the people first,” further enhance their sense of pride and mission in the work of the People’s Congress, and make new and greater contributions to Shenzhen’s role as a pioneer and vanguard in the great practice of advancing Chinese modernization.
