Beijing’s Fiscal Revenue Reaches 452.88 Billion Yuan in First Eight Months

From January to August, Beijing’s general public budget revenue reached 452.88 billion yuan, representing a year-on-year increase of 3.2%. This growth was driven by the effectiveness of incremental policies and the continuous consolidation of financial resource development. According to the latest fiscal revenue and expenditure data, during the first eight months, the city’s local-level tax revenue amounted to 397.86 billion yuan, up 5.3% year-on-year. Tax revenue accounted for 87.9% of total revenue, ranking first nationwide in revenue quality.

By tax category: Value-added tax reached 139.38 billion yuan, increasing 3.3% year-on-year and maintaining stable growth. This growth was primarily driven by increased business volume in key internet wholesale and new energy vehicle enterprises. Corporate income tax amounted to 124.66 billion yuan, rising 13.6% year-on-year and continuing the double-digit growth trend. This increase was mainly supported by improved operational efficiency in key information technology companies. Personal income tax reached 54.56 billion yuan, growing 7.2% year-on-year. Since the second quarter, personal income tax has maintained rapid growth of around 7%, primarily driven by capital market activity and dividend distributions from listed companies.

On the expenditure side, the city has strengthened fiscal resource and budget coordination, maintained a balanced approach between priority and non-priority spending, continuously optimized expenditure structure, and ensured financial support for key municipal projects, major initiatives, and livelihood programs. Data shows that from January to August, the city’s general public budget expenditure totaled 545.66 billion yuan, increasing 1.7% year-on-year.
