On November 26, the Beijing Cyberspace Administration and Beijing Financial Regulatory Bureau jointly launched a three-month special campaign called “Clear Capital·Financial Protection” to combat online chaos in the financial sector. The campaign aims to crack down on illegal online financial activities and “black and gray industry” practices with a high-pressure stance.
Currently, some “black and gray industry” activities in the financial sector are spreading through online platforms. Through methods such as identity impersonation, hidden引流, and illegal promotions, they mislead the public and commit fraud for financial gain, seriously endangering people’s property security and disrupting financial market order. This special campaign focuses on key platforms including short video, social media, and live streaming sites, targeting six major types of problems: professional impersonation that misleads the public,违规引流 through hidden methods, providing promotion services for illegal deposit and loan intermediaries, engaging in “black and gray industry” activities like illegal proxy rights protection, maliciously defaming financial institutions, and spreading false information to undermine economic confidence.
The Beijing Cyberspace Administration and Beijing Financial Regulatory Bureau require all website platforms to strictly fulfill their primary responsibilities, strengthen account qualification verification, comprehensively clean up违规 information, and take measures such as banning speech, suspending updates, restricting profit permissions, and closing accounts against违规 accounts according to laws and regulations,坚决阻断 the profit channels of illegal online financial activities and “black and gray industry” practices.
In the next step, the Beijing Cyberspace Administration and Beijing Financial Regulatory Bureau will use this special campaign as an opportunity to deepen cross-department coordination mechanisms, strengthen daily inspection efforts, strictly crack down on prominent online chaos in the financial sector, effectively protect people’s property security, create a clear online environment, and support the high-quality development of the capital’s economy.
