According to the Civil Aviation Administration, in August, China’s civil aviation transport scale reached a new historical high, with total transport turnover exceeding 150 billion ton-kilometers for the first time, indicating a continued positive overall operational trend.

In August, the entire civil aviation industry completed passenger transport volume of 75.364 million人次 and cargo and mail transport volume of 865,000 tons, representing year-on-year increases of 3.3% and 13.3% respectively.

In terms of passenger transport, domestic routes handled 67.899 million passengers in August, a year-on-year increase of 2.2%; international routes handled 7.465 million passengers, a year-on-year increase of 15.3%. For cargo transport, domestic routes handled 486,000 tons of cargo and mail in August, a year-on-year increase of 8.6%; international routes handled 379,000 tons, a year-on-year increase of 19.9%.

Furthermore, data shows that from January to August, national civil aviation completed a total transport turnover of 108.33 billion ton-kilometers, a year-on-year increase of 10.5%; a total of 520 million passengers were transported, with international route passenger volume increasing by 24.7% year-on-year; cargo and mail transport volume reached 6.516 million tons, with international cargo accounting for 43%.
