Playing chess with AI robots, generating personalized digital portraits by taking photos, achieving millimeter-level intelligent quality inspection in factory production, and enabling second-level response in urban governance… These cutting-edge artificial intelligence technologies will be showcased at the 8th China Western International Investment and Trade Fair (hereinafter referred to as the West China Fair).
This year’s West China Fair, themed “New West, New Manufacturing, New Services,” covers a total exhibition area of 110,000 square meters, featuring four major exhibition zones. Nearly 1,400 enterprises and institutions from 50 countries and regions will participate.
Unlike previous editions, this year’s event integrates AI elements throughout the entire process, from exhibition interactions and industry matchmaking to project signings and cooperation implementation. A tangible and immersive AI technology feast will be the biggest highlight of this year’s fair.
Full Empowerment of the Exhibition Grounds and Precise Matchmaking in Specialized Sessions
AI Elements Run Through the Entire Event
Exhibitions are the core platform of the West China Fair. For the first time, this year’s fair has established an independent exhibition area for productive service industries, which is coordinated with the industrial integration and development exhibition area. The total area of these two major zones exceeds 60,000 square meters. Among them, the comprehensive image exhibition area showcases cutting-edge AI technologies, innovative business models, and new development models, presenting a comprehensive view of digital technology achievements.
Visitors stepping into the West China Fair can immerse themselves in AI black technologies, such as playing chess with robots and experiencing AI digital portraits. This exhibition will allow the public to closely experience the strength of “Chongqing Intelligent Manufacturing” and intuitively feel the industrial transformation and changes in people’s lives brought about by new productive forces through visible, tangible, and interactive AI application achievements.
Beyond static exhibitions, multiple major themed events focus on the AI track to empower deep industrial integration.
This year’s West China Fair will host the 2026 Chongqing “AI + Manufacturing” Supply-Demand Matchmaking Special Event, focusing on empowering manufacturing transformation and upgrading with AI. It will collectively release new technologies and applications, such as AI public service platforms, promote high-quality “AI + Manufacturing” innovative products, break down barriers between technological supply and industrial demand, and promote the large-scale and in-depth application of AI technology across the entire manufacturing chain.
This special matchmaking event aims to precisely assess and bridge the needs of Chongqing’s manufacturing sector and AI enterprises. Chongqing has a large manufacturing scale and rich application scenarios, but many AI service providers face information asymmetry in supply and demand, making it difficult to accurately address enterprise pain points and identify market needs. This event, led by the government, will compile a list of industrial demands, integrate high-quality technological resources, and establish a face-to-face platform for supply and demand, effectively removing the last mile of technology application.
During the West China Fair, Chongqing will also collaborate with the Hong Kong Trade Development Council to host a special event on “Chongqing-Hong Kong AI+” Industrial Collaboration and Innovation Cooperation. This event focuses on leveraging the complementary advantages of AI industries in Chongqing and Hong Kong, promoting collaborative innovation. It aims to precisely match Hong Kong’s cutting-edge AI technology and high-quality international resources with Chongqing’s key intelligent manufacturing industries and diverse application scenarios, exploring cooperation potential and expanding industrial collaboration space.
Additionally, the Chongqing “Starry Sky” Action Plan special signing event will be held during the fair, focusing on cutting-edge digital economy tracks such as artificial intelligence, open-source systems, automotive software, and digital content. A batch of high-quality industrial projects will be signed and implemented, expected to create over 3,000 new jobs in the software sector, continuously strengthening the digital industry talent pool and empowering the city’s high-quality digital economy development.
Deepening Industry Roots and Benefiting People’s Livelihoods
AI Deeply Integrated into the Fabric of Urban Development
The intensive AI-themed content at this year’s West China Fair is a concentrated showcase of Chongqing’s years of deep involvement in the AI industry and efforts to deeply integrate the digital economy with the real economy.
As a major national manufacturing base, Chongqing possesses all 31 major manufacturing categories and is actively building a “33618” modern manufacturing cluster system. The iterative upgrading of AI technology and the transformation and upgrading of Chongqing’s manufacturing industry form a mutually reinforcing and beneficial pattern: AI technology provides core support for improving quality, efficiency, and upgrading traditional manufacturing, while Chongqing’s complete industrial system and rich application scenarios offer excellent ground for AI technology testing, implementation, and large-scale promotion.
