During the 14 years of the War of Resistance, the Communist Party of China remained unwavering in promoting nationwide persistence in resistance, unity, and progress, while opposing surrender, division, and regression. With outstanding political leadership and correct strategic policies, it guided the correct direction of China’s resistance, becoming the mainstay of the nation’s war effort and the vanguard in securing victory.
On multiple important occasions, the history of that heroic and moving period has been profoundly reviewed, highlighting the indelible contributions made by the Communist Party of China during the War of Resistance Against Japan and the World Anti-Fascist War. It has been clearly pointed out that “the mainstay role of the Communist Party of China was key to the victory of the Chinese People’s War of Resistance Against Japan.”
The War of Resistance Against Japan was the first struggle for national liberation in modern Chinese history to achieve complete victory. The history of the resistance proves that the Communist Party of China is an outstanding organizer and inspirer of national strength, as well as a strong core leading the Chinese people in striving for national independence and people’s liberation. History has proven and will continue to prove that upholding the Party’s overall leadership is fundamental to the prosperity of the nation and the well-being of all ethnic groups. On the new journey, we must unite more closely around the Party Central Committee, uphold the Party’s overall leadership, carry forward the great spirit of the resistance, and with the determination and courage to overcome all difficulties rather than be overwhelmed by them, continue to advance from victory to new victories.
