International Organization for Standardization (ISO) President Cho Sung-hwan: China currently chairs about 90 ISO technical committees, which is a significant number and a very impressive performance. China participates in the work of 99% of ISO technical committees and subcommittees, making a huge contribution to the ISO’s mission. I believe China is already one of the most engaged members of the ISO.

Cho Sung-hwan stated that China is a leader in fields such as electric vehicle batteries, solar panels, steel manufacturing, shipbuilding, wind power generation, and aerospace. These achievements are closely related to China’s emphasis on standards and standardization.

Cho Sung-hwan: I believe China has enormous potential for future development. China is leading many future technological advancements, such as artificial intelligence and quantum technology. Because of this, China can do even more on the international stage and play an important role in setting standards for artificial intelligence, quantum technology, and cybersecurity. Therefore, I hope to engage in closer cooperation with all relevant parties in China in the future. I also look forward to China making stronger commitments and greater contributions in the field of international standardization.
