TANGERANG – Collaborative efforts to handle flooding in Tangerang City are now underway. Recently, the Tangerang City Government has begun conducting a joint survey in preparation for the normalization of the Angke River watershed area.

The Head of the Public Works and Spatial Planning Office of Tangerang City stated that the Tangerang City Government, along with the Banten Provincial Government, South Tangerang City Government, and the Ciliwung-Cisadane River Basin Office, has carried out a joint survey to assess current conditions and map out the technical implementation of the upcoming normalization efforts.

As a result, the Tangerang City Government and related parties have agreed on the division of normalization areas according to their respective authorities.

«This joint survey follows the instructions of the Vice President of Indonesia and the Governor of Banten, emphasizing collaborative efforts involving all stakeholders. After completing the survey, normalization efforts are expected to be implemented soon,» he said.

He added that the joint survey covered the entire downstream area of the Angke River, from Graha Raya Tajur Housing to the Polor Petir Bridge in Cipondoh. This ensures that normalization efforts will be effective, efficient, and aligned with set targets.

«Once the survey is finalized, we will immediately draft an integrated normalization action plan based on each party’s authority, ensuring this joint effort becomes a long-term solution for flood prevention,» he continued.

Additionally, the Tangerang City Government hopes this initial collaborative step will minimize flood risks around the Angke River, especially amid ongoing high rainfall expected in the coming months.

Tangerang Mayor H. Sachrudin

TANGERANG – Tangerang Mayor H. Sachrudin emphasized the importance of ensuring all buildings in the city are not only visually appealing but also legally compliant and technically safe. He conveyed this message during a socialization event for Building Approval (PBG) and Certificate of Occupancy (SLF) held at the Akhlakul Karimah Room in the Tangerang City Government Building.

Addressing 154 participants from various business sectors—including housing developers, hospitality, offices, construction services, and healthcare facilities—Sachrudin stressed that urban planning cannot be done partially but requires collaboration between the government and the community, especially businesses directly involved in physical development.

«Building legality is not just an administrative document but a legal and technical guarantee that the structure is safe for occupants and the surrounding environment. This is our shared responsibility,» Sachrudin said.

As part of public service innovation, the Tangerang City Government continues to improve licensing services through legal approaches and digital technology, such as the Building Management Information System (SIMBG). This system enables online submission and issuance of PBG and SLF, making the process faster, more transparent, and efficient.

By mid-2025, the city had issued 4,965 PBGs and 166 SLFs. Since introducing expedited services in 2024, PBG processing for simple structures was reduced from 45 days to just 10 hours, demonstrating the government’s commitment to responsive and adaptive service.

«Through this socialization, we hope all development in Tangerang complies with regulations, supports orderly spatial planning, and creates a safe, organized, and investment-friendly city,» Sachrudin added.

The mayor also highlighted the event as an educational platform, inviting businesses to become strategic partners in achieving orderly, sustainable urban planning and a healthy investment climate.

«We urge all businesses to actively contribute to a well-regulated urban environment that prioritizes public safety. This is not just about permits but also social responsibility,» he concluded.

Echoing the mayor, the Vice Mayor of Tangerang, H. Maryono Hasan, expressed hope that through socialization and the city’s innovations, stronger collaboration between the government, community, and businesses can make Tangerang a livable and investment-ready city.
