BEKASI CITY – Perumda Tirta Patriot is conducting Technical Guidance (Bimtek) for employees to minimize Non-Revenue Water (NRW) or water leakage, which remains very high. In one service unit, Rawa Tembaga, leakage is estimated to reach 70 percent.

The main speaker at the Bimtek was the Director of PT Bhakti Air Indonesia, a recognized expert in NRW management and water distribution efficiency strategies.

The Director of Perumda Tirta Patriot stated that addressing leaks has become a primary task following the acquisition of assets from Bhagasasi.

“After the Bhagasasi assets were transferred to us, one of our main focuses, besides seeking new customers, is tackling leaks. Nearly all the water supply systems we received have leakage rates reaching 50 percent. Therefore, human resources must be prepared to manage this issue,” he said.

He gave an example: at the Rawa Tembaga water supply system, leakage is recorded at over 70 percent. This situation is considered highly detrimental, both to the company and the public.

“That is why we are collaborating with Water.org to address leaks from upstream to downstream,” he added.

On the other hand, the Technical Director of Tirta Patriot mentioned that the Bimtek is important as a follow-up to the asset separation between Bhagasasi and Tirta Patriot.

“Initially, this asset separation created serious challenges, one of which is the issue of water system leakage. With this Bimtek, it is hoped that colleagues will gain better understanding and, in the future, can minimize potential leakage,” he explained.

Therefore, with this Bimtek, it is expected that participants will be able to absorb the knowledge well so it can be applied at Perumda Tirta Patriot in developing the business.
