CIKARANG – Bekasi Regent Ade Kuswara appeared angry upon learning that a completed project had not been paid for by the Head of the Department as the budget authority. That afternoon, still wearing his official attire and a black peci hat, he did not hesitate to express his frustration several times after receiving information that a project funded by the regional budget (APBD) had not been paid by the Head of the Public Works Department, Beny Sugiarto.
In front of journalists, his anger was unmistakable. His initially smiling face suddenly turned tense, with a sharp gaze.
“I will summon that department head later. How dare he!!” Ade exclaimed when met on the terrace of the Bekasi Regency DPRD Building after the Plenary Session for the Amendment of the Regional Budget.
He then suddenly shared a story with journalists about when he had just taken office as Regent. He received information that contractors were only being paid 30 percent of the project value from the regional budget.
“I had just taken office when I found out contractors were only given 30 percent. That’s insane… Unacceptable. I already gave him a piece of my mind,” he said while hurriedly entering a black Land Cruiser.
