A video showing a shop owner becoming a victim of theft by a woman in Sukmajaya has gone viral on social media. Dozens of cigarette packs were stolen by the perpetrator.
From the video circulating on social media, the female perpetrator is seen wearing black clothes. It is narrated that the perpetrator initially pretended to buy groceries and requested them to be delivered.
Then, still in the video, it is narrated that the perpetrator took dozens of cigarette packs while the shop owner was busy preparing the order. The perpetrator then fled after taking the dozens of cigarette packs.
The Head of Public Relations of the Metro Depok Police, stated that the incident occurred on Monday at 10:00 AM Western Indonesia Time. Initially, the shop owner who was minding the store was approached by the perpetrator who pretended to buy groceries and various types of cigarettes.
“The perpetrator came under the pretext of ordering various brands of cigarettes and a number of grocery items,” the spokesperson said in a statement.
The shop owner provided the perpetrator’s order. While the shop owner was preparing the grocery order for the perpetrator, the dozens of cigarettes were taken and the perpetrator fled.
“However, while the reporter was weighing rice, suddenly the perpetrator immediately fled, taking various brands of cigarettes. And has not returned until now,” the statement said.
The victim suffered losses from various cigarette brands amounting to Rp 2,643,000. The victim then reported the incident to the Sukmajaya Police Station.
