A building storing electric bicycles in West Java was hit by a fire. Firefighters have extinguished the fire in the building.

“Severe damage: building or stock warehouse,” said the Head of Fire Extinguishing and Rescue on Wednesday (3/9/2025).

The fire was reported to the fire department at 08:03 WIB. The fire occurred at Jalan Zamrud Selatan RT 002 RW 021, Padurenan, Mustika Jaya.

The extinguishing process began at 08:16 WIB. The fire was caused by an electrical problem.

“According to the owner’s statement, the fire is suspected to have originated from an electrical short circuit on the 2nd floor, which then spread to the showroom ceiling and extended to the electric bicycles on the lower floor,” he said.

The fire was discovered after residents informed the owner when smoke was coming out from under the rolling door. A total of 3 fire trucks were deployed to the scene.

The burned area was approximately 15 square meters. The estimated loss from the fire is around Rp 70 million.

“Severe damage to 10 electric bicycles,” he said.

There were no fatalities or injuries resulting from this incident.
