Asian Small-Clawed Otter Fairy ‘Chiitan’

“The Showa Kayo Paradise” will be held from October 11th to 13th at Rinko Park (Minato Mirai 1, Nishi-ku, Yokohama), which faces Yokohama Port.

This event was first held last October and was very popular in a collaboration with Yokohama Takashimaya this past April. This time, to celebrate “100 Years of Showa,” DJs and artists who love Japanese music from the Showa and Heisei eras will gather to liven up the stage. Food trucks with meals and drinks will also line the waterfront.

On August 22nd, the second round of performing artists was announced. Joining the lineup are the vocal group Yokohama Sisters, who deliver a wide repertoire including Yokohama hit medleys and world national anthem medleys through choral work, and the Asian small-clawed otter fairy “Chiitan,” who serves as the official character of the Akihabara Tourism Promotion Association.

The scheduled performers for each day are: October 11th = Let’s Yan Team, Sakata Marine (The Black Candies), Yukemuri DJs, Neo Stars, Chiitan and more; October 12th = Itoshi no Ellies, Yukemuri DJs, Yokohama Sisters, Chiitan and more; October 13th = Mark Panther (globe), DJ Dainoji, Yukemuri DJs, Machi Akari, Chiitan and more.

The event will run from 11:00 to 20:00. It will be held in light rain and canceled in stormy weather. Admission is free.

On September 20th, the “Everyone’s Sports Festival” will be held for the first time at Yokohama Shimizugaoka Park (Shimizugaoka, Minami-ku, Yokohama).

This park is a sports park developed on the former site of Yokohama National University. Its approximately 9.5-hectare grounds include a gymnasium, an indoor heated pool, baseball fields, and tennis courts.

“Everyone’s Sports Festival 2025” is an experiential event held in collaboration with professional sports teams that call Yokohama their home town: the professional baseball team “Yokohama DeNA BayStars,” the professional soccer club “Yokohama FC,” and the professional basketball team “Yokohama Excellence.”

On the day, there will be many experience corners prepared, including the Yokohama DeNA BayStars’ original experience program “B-PARK” for children who have never played baseball, Yokohama FC soccer clinics, experiences of inclusive sports like boccia and molkky that can be enjoyed regardless of age or gender, and sports wheelchair experiences.

Concurrently, “Everyone’s Marche” will be held in the multipurpose plaza, gathering Yokohama’s gourmet foods. It will feature local baked goods and sweets from bakeries, local vegetables from within Kanagawa Prefecture and Yokohama City, and other regional delicacies.

The event will run from 10:00 to 15:00. Participation is free. It will be held rain or shine.

Rinko Park

Akihabara Tourism Promotion Association

The Akihabara Tourism Promotion Association is an organization dedicated to promoting the Akihabara district of Tokyo, which transformed from a post-war black market for radio parts into the world’s premier electronics and otaku culture hub. It works to support tourism, coordinate local businesses, and organize events that celebrate the area’s unique identity as a center for technology, anime, manga, and video games.

Yokohama Shimizugaoka Park

Yokohama Shimizugaoka Park is a historic Western-style garden established in 1902 by Iwasaki Hisaya, the son of the founder of the Mitsubishi conglomerate.
