Police stated that a criminal incident occurred involving two elementary school children who attended school in Babelan, Bekasi Regency. The case has now been elevated to the investigation stage.

“So, based on the results of the initial inquiry, a case review was conducted at the district police level, and it aligned with the inquiry at the sector police level. It was then elevated to a full investigation,” said the Babelan Sector Police Chief, Commissioner Wito, on Friday.

The Babelan Sector Police conducted the case review on Thursday. From the results of this review, police found criminal elements in the case.

“Yes (there is), the criminal incident, based on the results of yesterday’s case review. That’s why it was elevated from the initial inquiry to a full investigation,” he continued.

Aiming for a Suspect

With the case elevated to the investigation stage, .

“We are moving towards identifying a suspect, but we still need proof from experts as well,” he explained.

Wito explained that so far, his team has collected a number of pieces of evidence, including CCTV footage, the victims’ clothing, and extracurricular fee payments. They are also still awaiting the examination results from the hospital.

“Then, the hospital results are being requested,” he added.

Previously, two elementary school children with the initials KBW and FAP died after drowning in a swimming pool owned by their school located in Babelan, Bekasi Regency, West Java. This case is being investigated by the police.

The incident occurred on Monday afternoon. The two victims left after school activities had finished.

However, at 2:30 PM local time, the victims’ parents were called by the school to come to the Viola Pondok Ungu Permai Hospital. They were informed that both victims had died from drowning.
