Jakarta – The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has searched the home of former Minister of Religious Affairs Yaqut Cholil Qoumas (YCQ) in East Jakarta as part of an investigation into alleged corruption related to the 2024 Hajj quota. The KPK seized several documents and electronic evidence from the residence.

“During the search at YCQ’s home, the team secured a number of documents and electronic evidence,” said the KPK spokesperson.

The spokesperson stated that the seized electronic evidence would be extracted to examine the information contained within. The KPK is still gathering various leads to further investigate the case.

“The electronic evidence will be extracted and analyzed to uncover relevant information. This data will be crucial for investigators to trace leads related to this case,” they added.

Previously, the KPK imposed a travel ban on former Minister Yaqut Cholil Qoumas (YCQ) for the next six months. Similar restrictions were also placed on two other individuals involved in the case.

“On August 11, 2025, the KPK issued a decree prohibiting three individuals—YCQ, IAA, and FHM—from traveling abroad in connection with this case,” the spokesperson explained.

The KPK has also conducted a preliminary assessment of state losses in the alleged Hajj quota corruption case. The estimated losses exceed IDR 1 trillion.

“Initial calculations suggest state losses in this case exceed IDR 1 trillion,” the spokesperson stated at the KPK headquarters in Kuningan, South Jakarta.

The spokesperson clarified that the figure was based on internal KPK calculations, which have been discussed with the Supreme Audit Agency (BPK). However, a more detailed audit will follow.

“These are preliminary internal estimates, already reviewed with BPK. A more thorough examination will be conducted later,” they said.

The case is currently under investigation. The KPK is using a general investigation warrant, meaning no suspects have been named yet.
