Around 10:40 a.m., Xi and Peng Liyuan arrived at the Sino-Korean Friendship Tower, located at the foot of Moranbong Hill, where Kim Jong Un and Ri Sol Ju greeted them. The North Korean military band played the national anthems of both China and North Korea. Honor guards slowly carried a floral wreath onto the platform. The ribbon on the wreath read: “Eternal glory to the Chinese People’s Volunteers martyrs.” Xi slowly walked up to the platform and adjusted the ribbon. All present observed a moment of silence in honor of the Chinese People’s Volunteers martyrs. After the silence, Xi and Kim Jong Un watched a military honor guard parade.
