Amidst the mountains and rivers of Sichuan, the night is radiating new economic vitality. Today, the “Shop in China – Sichuan Station” and the 4th China (Sichuan) International Panda Consumption Festival were launched. As an important part of the event, the “2025 Sichuan-Chongqing Nighttime Landmarks” and “2025 Sichuan-Chongqing Nighttime Economy New Business Model Demonstration Cases” were officially released (hereinafter referred to as “Nighttime Landmarks” and “New Business Model Cases”; the list is detailed at the end).
Previously, the “Vibrant Sichuan-Chongqing, Dynamic China” 2025 First Sichuan-Chongqing Urban Nighttime Economy Carnival, guided by relevant provincial departments and jointly organized by media groups, ran throughout the summer. The sub-activity “Sichuan-Chongqing Nighttime Economy Research Tour” covered over 40 cities in Sichuan and Chongqing, generating widespread social attention with related topics accumulating up to 430 million reads. The organizers received over 200 landmark and case submissions and more than 800 short video entries. The final “Double Twenty” list highlights the innovative achievements and unique charm of the Sichuan-Chongqing nighttime economy.
Leading the ‘Nighttime’ Wave
Sichuan-Chongqing Nighttime Economy Landmarks and Cases Released
At the event, a well-known Sichuan writer and the Secretary-General of the Chongqing Nighttime Economic Development Federation served as recommendation ambassadors, jointly unveiling the list of 20 “2025 Sichuan-Chongqing Nighttime Landmarks” and 20 “2025 Sichuan-Chongqing Nighttime Economy New Business Model Demonstration Cases”.
A closer look at the list reveals distinct characteristics. Among the “Nighttime Landmarks,” Chongqing’s Shancheng Lane Traditional Style Area preserves the street layout and historical memory of old Chongqing, revitalizing the century-old alley by introducing new formats like cultural creativity, tea houses, and boutique homestays. Correspondingly, Pengshui Chiyou Jiuli City uses Miao culture as its soul, transforming ancient legends into tangible, participatory immersive consumption scenes through nighttime live performances and intangible cultural heritage workshop experiences.
