China-Europe Railway Express “Eastern Corridor” surpasses 3,000 trips this year.
On June 6, a train consisting of 55 cars, fully loaded with edible oil, car tires, aluminum ingots, and other goods on its return journey from Europe to China, entered through the Manzhouli railway port in Inner Mongolia, heading to the Wujiashan station in Wuhan. Since the beginning of this year, the number of China-Europe freight trains passing through the “Eastern Corridor” has exceeded 3,000.
The “Eastern Corridor” for China-Europe trains is composed of three major railway ports: Manzhouli, Suifenhe, and Tongjiangbei. It has currently formed 27 stable operating routes, reaching 14 countries including Poland, Germany, and the Netherlands, and connecting over 60 cities in China such as Changsha, Zhengzhou, and Chengdu. Statistics show that from January to April this year, the total volume of trains passing through the “Eastern Corridor” accounted for 32.1% of the national total, with return trains accounting for 41.1% of the national return volume.
As an important node of the “Eastern Corridor,” the Manzhouli railway port continues to operate well. As of now, the port has completed a total import and export freight volume of 9.677 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 1.2%, setting a new historical record. To ensure the rapid customs clearance and transshipment of imported goods, Manzhouli station has continuously deepened the “railway-customs-enterprise” linkage mechanism. Relying on the 95306 “Digital Port” system, it shares data in real time with customs and freight forwarding companies, coordinating business processing to eliminate bottlenecks and blockages in data transmission.
The Suifenhe railway port plays a pivotal role as a corridor hub. By optimizing the train operation process and reducing vehicle turnaround time, it continuously enhances the support capacity of the international logistics corridor. As of now, Suifenhe station has operated a total of 402 China-Europe trains this year, a year-on-year increase of 150%.
The Tongjiangbei railway port fully utilizes the combined advantages of its “four yards and one depot” to improve the precision of operation plans and enhance port transportation efficiency, achieving “fast loading and unloading, smooth entry and exit” for China-Europe trains. Since the beginning of the year, the Tongjiangbei port has handled 118 import and export trains and 106,000 tons of cargo, an increase of 174.4% compared to the same period last year.
