An expanded meeting was held on Thursday at the Prime Minister’s Office in Tripoli, chaired by the Deputy Prime Minister of the National Unity Government, Salem Al-Zadma, and the Minister of State for Affairs of the Prime Minister and the Cabinet, Mohamed Ben Ghalboun, to follow up on the conditions of areas affected by floods in recent days, and to discuss urgent interventions and government response plans across various service sectors.

The meeting was attended by the Minister of Health, Mohamed Al-Ghouj, the Minister of Oil and Gas, Khalifa Abdel Sadiq, the Minister of Social Affairs, Wafa Al-Kilani, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Holding Company for Communications, along with the General Director of the Emergency and Support Medicine Center, the General Director of the General Electricity Company, and the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the General Water and Sanitation Company.

During the meeting, participants reviewed detailed reports on the extent of damage to infrastructure in several areas, particularly regarding power outages and disruptions to water and sewage networks, in addition to an assessment of the field health situation, the readiness of ambulance and emergency teams, and the urgent needs of affected municipalities for relief materials and basic services.

The Deputy Prime Minister emphasized the importance of concerted efforts among various executive and service entities, raising the level of field coordination, and accelerating the response to address damages, in order to alleviate the suffering of citizens and restore basic services as quickly as possible, stressing the need to work as a single team at this stage.

For his part, the Minister of State conveyed the Prime Minister’s directives, which emphasize the need to intensify field efforts by all sectors, develop urgent plans to restore vital facilities to their normal operation, and submit periodic reports on completion rates and response levels in affected areas.
