The JCS team of the Medan Police arrested two local thugs carrying a weapon resembling a pistol on Jalan Baru, Pasar 7, Percut Seituan District, on Wednesday night (3/6/2026).
The two individuals, Julfikar and Zulharyam, went viral on social media for assaulting a pregnant woman and her husband by kicking them while they were riding a motorcycle.
Based on information obtained on Thursday (4/6/2026), initially the victim and her husband were passing through Jalan Baru, Pasar 7, when they witnessed a brawl between groups of youths occurring above a railway crossing tunnel.
Fearing they might become victims of the brawl, the couple stopped their vehicle. Seeing the stopped motorcycle, the two perpetrators approached and told the victims to continue driving, but the couple refused to proceed.
Because their words were ignored, the two perpetrators, Julfikar and Zulharyam, immediately assaulted the couple. Additionally, Julfikar was found carrying an airsoft gun.
Medan Police personnel received a report about the assault by thugs against a pregnant woman and her husband and quickly responded to the scene. Through investigation, police officers eventually apprehended both perpetrators at their homes.
After being arrested, the two perpetrators were taken to the Medan Police headquarters for questioning. Evidence seized included an airsoft gun, ammunition, a gas canister, and clothing.
The head of the Mobile Crime Unit of the Medan Police Criminal Investigation Division confirmed the arrest of the two perpetrators whose actions went viral on social media.
“They have been secured. The case is still being investigated,” he said briefly.
