The Indonesian Football Federation (PSSI) and the league operator, PT Liga Indonesia Baru (PT LIB), have decided to extend the away supporter ban policy for the 2025/2026 Liga 1 season.

This decision, which was already in effect, was made primarily to maintain security and order for the smooth running of the competition.

The away supporter ban was first implemented in response to incidents of riots and clashes between fans, which frequently occurred both inside and outside stadiums.

PSSI and PT LIB hope this policy will minimize the potential for clashes, reduce security burdens, and create a more conducive match atmosphere for players and officials.

This policy is considered beneficial, particularly in terms of improving security and order. The potential for clashes, fights, and vandalism involving away supporters can be significantly reduced.

The stadium environment also becomes safer for spectators, players, and all match personnel.

Additionally, with fewer disturbances in the stands, players and referees can focus more on the game without being affected by pressure from large numbers of opposing supporters.
