A factory fire in Cikupa, Tangerang is suspected to have been caused by an electrical short circuit in a production machine.
A fire broke out at a sausage factory, PT Adilmart CCK, located on Jalan Bumimas 1, Number 9, Cikupa Mas Industrial Area, Talaga Village, Cikupa District, Tangerang Regency, in the early hours of Thursday, May 28, 2026.
Based on observations at the scene, smoke could be seen from 2 kilometers away from the fire site.
Firefighters from the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of Tangerang Regency were seen battling the blaze.
Parts of the walls and roof of the sausage factory building have also collapsed due to the fire.
The Platoon Commander (Danton) of the BPBD Mako in Tangerang Regency stated that the fire was first noticed by a security guard who saw flames on a sausage processing machine.
“The initial suspicion is that the fire was caused by an electrical short circuit in a production machine,” the official said.
He explained that the fire at this sausage factory started at 3:01 AM local time and is still being extinguished.
The Regency BPBD deployed 7 fire trucks from Mako Curug, Pasar Kemis fire station, Balaraja fire station, Kelapa Dua fire station, Rajeg fire station, and Tigaraksa fire station to put out the fire.
“A total of 45 personnel were deployed to extinguish the fire,” he explained.
During the firefighting process, the official said they faced several difficulties, including challenging access to a water supply, which was quite far from the location.
“The second obstacle was access for extinguishing because the building had collapsed,” he said.
He revealed that they are still unable to estimate the losses or the area of the factory that was burned.
“There were no casualties, but the extent of the affected area is not yet known,” he disclosed.
