The home team Da Nang (Vietnam) and the Chinese team have entered the final preparation stage, ready for the opening night of the Da Nang International Fireworks Festival DIFF 2026, taking place on the evening of May 30 along the Han River.

On May 27, at the fireworks site along the banks of the Han River, engineers and specialists from both teams were busy completing the installation, checking technical systems, connecting equipment, and testing performance scenarios ahead of the opening day.

The home team (Vietnam) and the team from Jiangxi Yangfeng Art Display Co., Ltd (China) promise to deliver a brilliant competition to kick off this year’s festival season.

This year, DIFF 2026 brings together many renowned fireworks teams from countries with leading traditions in fireworks performance worldwide. Many teams have previously performed at major festivals and achieved high results in international fireworks competitions.

The opening night of DIFF 2026 has the theme “Nature,” starting with performances by the Da Nang team (Vietnam) and the Jiangxi Yangfeng Art Display Co., Ltd (China) team.

According to the organizers, the Chinese team returns to Da Nang after winning the DIFF 2025 championship with a performance titled “Flower of the Orient,” inspired by the folk song “Jasmine Flower.” In this season, the team continues to bring an artistic style by using smokeless fireworks combined with East Asian music.

A representative of the Jiangxi Yangfeng Art Display Co., Ltd (China) fireworks team stated that as the reigning champion of DIFF 2025, the team has prepared many new ideas and techniques for this year’s opening night performance.

“The Chinese team brings to Da Nang many modern and unique fireworks equipment and effects from China that have never appeared at DIFF before. Additionally, the design and performance script have been invested with many new elements to surprise the audience.

At the same time, the team will combine fireworks with natural elements to create an emotional performance,” the representative shared.

Meanwhile, the home team Da Nang continues to represent Vietnam at DIFF with a performance themed “Nature.”

A representative of the Vietnamese team noted that DIFF is an annual event, so the home team is accustomed to the competition pace and the pressure of the festival. The team’s main concern now is the weather conditions on the performance night. As of now, the Da Nang fireworks team has completed over 70% of the work to prepare for the opening night.

According to the representative, the biggest challenge for the Vietnamese team is competing with many international teams that have long traditions, master the technology, and directly produce fireworks. However, the Da Nang team this year has made many technical changes, selecting effects and fireworks colors to deliver a more emotional performance for the audience.

“Competing on home ground gives the team a lot more confidence. The support from the Da Nang audience is the motivation for the whole team to strive to complete their performance well at this year’s DIFF. On the opening night, the Da Nang team will perform with the theme ‘Nature,’ combining melodious music with brilliant light effects to convey the message that nature is the source of life, love, and aspiration,” the representative shared.

According to observations, the main grandstand area along the Han River is also being rushed to complete the final items to serve residents and visitors on the opening night. These days, the festive atmosphere has already become lively in the center of Da Nang City, with many streets brightly decorated, attracting large numbers of residents and tourists to visit and take photos.

After the opening night, DIFF 2026 will continue
