On the evening of May 27 in Thai Nguyen, Hanoi I women’s club faced Ho Chi Minh City in the final. These two teams contributed the most players to the Vietnamese women’s national team in the tournament.

Hanoi I women’s club aimed to attack early and seek an opening goal. Right at the start of the first half, they created two threatening situations against Ho Chi Minh City’s goal, with shots going wide from Vu Thi Hoa and Ngan Thi Van Su.

Ho Chi Minh City women’s club started slower, taking some time to regain control of the match and launch counterattacks, including a free kick from Tran Thi Thu Xuan that hit the crossbar.

Early in the second half, Hanoi I women’s club continued to cause trouble for Ho Chi Minh City. Bui Thi Thuong had a clear chance inside the opponent’s penalty area but failed to convert, shooting wide.

Despite being pressured by the opponent, Ho Chi Minh City women’s club held firm during regular time, forcing the match into a penalty shootout after a 0-0 draw.

In the shootout, Huynh Nhu and her teammates showed greater composure, securing a convincing 3-0 victory. Immediately after the match, the Ho Chi Minh City Football Federation (HFF) awarded 200 million VND to the Ho Chi Minh City women’s club for successfully defending their championship.

With this title, coach Doan Thi Kim Chi’s squad won the National Women’s Cup for the fifth time, following their triumphs in 2020, 2021, 2022, and 2024.

For Hanoi I women’s club, despite having a younger squad, they still lacked the experience needed to claim this title for the first time.
