The Central Executive Board of the Indonesian Association of Packaged Drinking Water Entrepreneurs (AMDATARA) is strengthening collaboration with the Geological Agency of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources to promote sustainable water resource management. This partnership includes enhancing water governance, regulations, and science-based research development. The General Chair of AMDATARA, Karyanto Wibowo, emphasized the association’s commitment to supporting responsible water resource management.
He also outlined the latest developments in the packaged drinking water industry, including its economic contributions and various challenges faced by businesses. During the meeting, AMDATARA explored strategic collaboration with the Geological Agency, particularly in strengthening research and scientific studies to support data-driven policies. This support is expected to strengthen science-based water resource management, ensuring that industry growth remains aligned with environmental conservation efforts.
“AMDATARA is committed to complying with all applicable regulations and acting as a bridge between the government and industry players to ensure responsible and sustainable practices,” said Karyanto in Jakarta. Karyanto also presented various sustainability initiatives by AMDATARA members, including science-based watershed management, tree planting, construction of infiltration wells, groundwater monitoring, and improving access to clean water for communities. In addition to sharing the industry’s condition and contributions, AMDATARA provided technical perspectives on water resource management in Indonesia.
The Acting Head of the Geological Agency, Lana Saria, appreciated AMDATARA’s initiative in building communication and partnerships.
