Ludhiana, The Ludhiana Municipal Corporation office received an email on Monday threatening to bomb the mayor’s office in the district and the ancestral residence of Punjabi singer Diljit Dosanjh. However, nothing suspicious was found during the search. Police provided this information.

Police officials stated that no explosives or suspicious objects were found during the search. They also said that security has been increased and a cyber team is investigating the source of the email. Police arrived at both locations with a bomb disposal squad and a team of sniffer dogs, conducting a search operation at the mayor’s office in Dugri and Dosanjh’s ancestral home.

Police reported that government office hours in Punjab had been changed to morning starting Monday, so all employees had already arrived at the office by the time the threat was received in the morning. Police said the entire Zone A municipal corporation complex was evacuated as a precaution. Several establishments in Punjab and Haryana have received similar threats in recent weeks, where such emails later turned out to be hoaxes. A few days ago, some schools in Ludhiana received a similar threat.
